โSource Actions
The sources dropdown manages the sources of presets that SynthEyes has loaded, including the /Built-in and optional /Facility sources, the /User area that manages โpreferencesโ of various kinds, the /Scene area specific to the current .sni file, and any additional sources of presets youโve chosen to loadโeffectively libraries of presets. Sources as stored as structured JSON files.
The commands on the source Actions: menu affect the source shown in the
Source dropdown; you can either change the dropdown or select the sourceโs preset.
Overall the idea is to make the sources more visible as entities of their own, and minimize accidental havoc wreaked upon them.
NOTE: The list of sources is stored in the โ/Sceneโ area. To load a set of sources consistently into all scenes (ie make it a preference), copy โ/Scene/Current/Current Sourcesโ into โ/User/Current.โ
Info on source. Displays filename information about the source, which can also be viewed on the tooltip.
Unlock source. Unlock the source so it can be changed if you have suitable
permissions to write that file. That wonโt be apparent until later when you lock it back up or exit SynthEyesโunlocked sources are automatically saved to disk when SynthEyes exits.
Lock source. Lock the source so it canโt accidentally be changed by normal user activities. The Built-in and Facility presets are locked by default.
Reload source. Reload the source from diskโa forced undo to the last time it was saved.
Save source. Immediately save the source to disk in its usual location.
Save to file. Save the source library to a specific different fileโthis is useful for creating your own separate library of presets, or perhaps to checkpoint your preferences (independent of saving them as a project).
Save complete to file. Same as Save to file, except that any links embedded in it are resolved to their targets. [Using links not recommended at present.]
Create new preset library. Create a new empty preset library; youโll be asked to select a file to save it, which will determine its (initial) name.
Add existing preset library. Open an existing preset library as a new source; it will be added at the end of the list of sources.
Unload preset library. Removes it as a source; the JSON file will not be deleted.
